The goal of the Trans-Opera Project was to increase the participation of entities and people from the area of the South Baltic in co-creation of cultural events and the network of transborder partnerships. It is in accordance with the overall goal of the Programme Interreg South Baltic 2014-2020 which assumes greater and greater involvement of local cultural centres from the area of the South Baltic in transborder activities.
The project assumed organisation of educational workshops, lectures and meetings for groups from Poland and Germany conducted by specialists on transborder initiatives and connecting the centres taking part in workshops into pairs or groups that would cooperate on a regular basis in the future. The groups joined in partnerships were obliged during the project to prepare a common artistic performance, a concert and an exhibition, which were presented both in Szczecin and in Stralsund during public transborder festivals.
The result of the international cooperation was the open-air show "Pagliacci", with the participation of local artists, volunteers and cultural institutions from both regions. Moreover, the choir which was an integral part of the show comprised amateurs, residents of the cities selected through a casting in the Polish and the German region of the South Baltic. The show took place in Szczecin and in Stralsund, and it was accompanied by photo exhibitions, educational workshops, smaller artistic performances and concerts.
