The goal of the project was to prepare the premiere of the ballets "In the lodgings" of Stanisław Moniuszko and "The Song of the Earth" of Roman Palester, one of the most important and the greatest artistic endeavours related to the work of Polish composers in 2018. The most significant goal of the production definitely was enriching the repertoire of the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin with the works of classical Polish composers. Before that, in the repertoire of the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin there had been the ballet "Story of a Sin" to the symphonic music of Mieczysław Karłowicz with the choreography of Karol Urbański. Other items by Polish composers are the shows to the music of contemporary composers: Przemysław Zych, Jerzy Kornowicz and Janusz Stalmierski.
Neither of the titles : "In the lodgings" and "The Song of the Earth" New approach to the Polish ballet classics – preparing the premiere of ballets of Stanisław Moniuszko and Roman Palester belongs to the mainstream of Polish ballets, not to say that they are rather forgotten by choreographers. The Opera at the Castle decided to help in reintroducing them into the mainstream of the Polish opera-ballet scene by inviting to realise the title young and incredibly talented choreographers who could approach the classics in an innovative modern way and present them in a form attractive to the contemporary viewer.
